Eleanor L. (Burke) Leach, 84, died Tuesday, November 2, 2021 with her sons by her side following a brief illness. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Milton E. & Ethel (Todd) Burke, and the beloved wife of the late Jon E. Leach.
Raised and educated in Framingham Schools, Eleanor worked for many years as a line worker at the local hat factory. Later in life she volunteered for the Commission for the Blind, and ran the local low vision group through the Callahan Senior center in Framingham. Two days a week she could be found serving meals throughout the Framingham Housing Authority.
Eleanor was truly happy when she was helping others. She assisted neighbors who had no one with end of life care even as she struggled with her own ailments, and she did it all with a smile!
Eleanor loved her sons more than anything in the world, Kenneth & his wife Susan of Garner, NC, Glen of Framingham, her 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Arnold of NC, and Amy Deome of Woodstock, VT, 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Jon, Eleanor was predeceased by 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Family and friends will honor and remember Eleanor’s life by gathering for her Funeral Services in The Plymouth Church of Framingham, 87 Edgell Rd., Framingham on Tuesday Morning, November 7th at 9AM. Interment will be private.
