A. John Castoldi

August 16, 1946 ~ September 1, 2022 (age 76) 76 Years Old


A. John Castoldi, 76, a longtime resident of Framingham died Thursday, September 1, 2022 following a lengthy illness. Born in Brighton the son of the late Albert J. & Dora (Bilton) Castoldi, and the beloved husband of Marilyn E. (Kwedor) Castoldi.

John was raised and educated in Waltham and worked at his father’s gas station in Brighton as a kid. Not long after high school graduation John started his own construction business, A.J. Castoldi Company, which he ran until just a few years ago though still took on small jobs even up until recently. He met and married the love of his life, and together they settled in Saxonville in 1976 to raise their family.

John was smart and witty. He loved to tell jokes and stories and to make others smile. He loved golf and most Tuesdays he could be found at Millwood. He enjoyed coffee with friends at Honeydew in Nobscot, and the occasional car show. He loved all dogs and he never left the house without a dog bone in his pocket. He especially loved his dog Harley who was rescued from Buddy Dog Humane Society. In their younger years he and Marilyn enjoyed bowling at the Fairway in Natick.

John was always there to help anyone, but particularly his family, his wife of 48 years Marilyn, his children, Amy & her husband Paul Munchmeyer of Marlborough, Robin of Alexandra, VA, and Andy & his wife Jessica of Northborough, his grandchildren, Shamus and Libby, his siblings, twin brother Jimmy of Waltham, David & his wife Rose of Waltham, and Natalie Perkins of Wolfeboro, NH, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember John’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Friday, September 9th from 4-8pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning in St. George Church, 74 School St. Saxonville, at 10 o’clock. Interment will be private.
