Virginia M. “Ginny” Bamforth, 94, of Titusville and formerly of Oaks Road, Framingham, passed away Monday July 30, 2018 with her loving daughter by her side at Royal Oaks Nursing and Rehab Center in Titusville, FL, following a long illness. Born on January 9, 1924 in Framingham, MA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Helen (Durant) Fair.
Ginny graduated from Framingham High School in 1942. She married Charles R. Bamforth on April 23, 1949 in Hopkinton, MA and the couple resided on Oaks Road in Framingham for many years before moving to Titusville, FL. He passed away May 12, 2006 following 57 years of marriage.
Ginny was employed at General Electric in Ashland, MA, at Fenwal Electronics in Framingham for five years, and at AeriTech in Framingham for a few years.
She was a communicant of St. Stephen’s Church and also St. Bridget’s Church of Framingham, singing in the church choir for several years, and was a member of the Massachusetts Catholic Women’s Guild. She also was a member of the Perini Bowling League and the St. John’s Catholic Women’s Bowling League of Hopkinton.
Ginny was also a communicant of St. Teresa’s Church of Titusville, Florida for several years. She loved her home in Titusville and enjoyed entertaining friends and family during their visits to Florida. She also enjoyed golfing, singing, dancing, bird watching, bingo, scratch tickets, and most importantly, spending time with her family.
Besides her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Mildred (Vitale) Orszeck, Catherine Bowman, Raymond Fair, Joseph Fair, and Helen Cady; and her daughter-in-law, Linda Bamforth.
Survivors include four children, Charles F. “Chuck” Bamforth (Laurie) of Oxford, MA, James C. Bamforth of Framingham, MA, Joseph S. Bamforth (Christine) of Hampton, NH, and Kathleen A. Densmore (Robert) of Corinth, NY; six grandchildren, Shaun Bamforth (Amanda) of Roxbury, MA, Matthew Bamforth (Allison) of Clinton, MA, Jameson Bamforth of Hampton, NH, Jillian Bamforth of Hampton, NH, Christian Densmore (Aliceanne Comar) of Corinth, NY, and Courtney Densmore of Corinth, NY; three great-grandchildren, Cameron, Owen, and Ellie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends will honor and remember Virginia’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham on Sunday August 5th, from 5 - 8 P.M. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bridget’s Church, 830 Worcester Rd. (Rt. 9 E), Framingham, Monday morning at 9 A.M. A Rite of Committal will be held at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Hopkinton.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Royal Oaks Nursing and Rehab Center, Dr. Mark Storey, and the Hospice of St. Francis for their compassionate care and kindness, and a special thanks to Jean Charron and Joan Morin for their kindness and devoted friendship and support given to Ginny during her illness.
