Michael Kisiel, Sr. , 98, a long time resident of Methuen, and most recently of Framingham, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27.
He was born in Lawrence to the late Apolinary and Jadwiga (Janas) Kisiel and was educated in the Lawrence schools. Michael was also a parishioner of the Holy Trinity Church of Lawrence.
Michael retired in 1985 from the Internal Revenue Service. Michael was a World War II veteran and served with the 517th F. A. Battalion. Michael was awarded the Theater Campaign Ribbon, Asian Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with the Bronze Service Star, Distinguished Unit Badge, Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Michael was predeceased by his loving wife of 75 years, Mary (Gagliardi) Kisiel. Michael is survived by sons Michael and wife Joyce, Richard, Robert and wife Jennifer, James and wife Sue, William and wife Barbara, daughters Marsha and husband Joseph DiDonato, Janis Viveiros and Marilyn Sevigny, 13 grand children, 14 great grand children and 2 great-great grand children, and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sisters, Stella Jendrasek, Tessie Filip, Mary Bastek, Laura Winters and Helen Hornby.
