Katherine V. (Rousseau) Svendsen, 87, died Wednesday November 29, 2017, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Born in Framingham the daughter of the late Albert & Elizabeth (Morey) Rousseau, she is the beloved wife of Harold E. Svendsen.

Katherine spent her whole life in Framingham. She was a 1948 graduate of Framingham High, where she began dating her future husband, Harold. She had an amazing memory, and often reminded family and friends of birthdays, addresses, and phone numbers. For many years she was a crossing guard for the Town of Framingham.

Besides her husband Harold, she is survived by her children, Gale Bonner & her husband Steven of Sudbury, Karen Hince & her husband Denis of Medway, and Harold “Ted” & his wife Diane of Northborough, her grandchildren, Erik, Paul, Jessica, Anders “AJ”, Jon, 5 great grandchildren, her sisters, Pauline LaForce, Therese Crowley, and Jeanne Taylor, and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her grandson, Gerard, and her siblings, Mary Louise, Wilhelmina, Eugene, Albert, Rita, Elizabeth, John, Phyllis, Edna, and Frederick.

Family and friends will honor and remember Katherine’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham, on Tuesday, December 5th from 3-7 P.M.  Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday morning in St. George’s Church, 74 School St., Saxonville at 10 o’clock.  Interment in St. George Cemetery.

Katherine was an extremely charitable woman. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in her name to: Boys Town,  200 Flanagan Blvd., P.O. Box 8000, Boys Town, NE 68010,, or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center,
