Joseph M. Kistner, 77, a longtime resident of Framingham, MA died Thursday, July 26, 2018 following a lengthy illness. Born in Belleville, IL the son of the late Joseph A. & Dorothy E. (Maney) Kistner, he was the husband of Carol W. (Waters) Kistner for just over 45 years.
Joseph grew up and was educated in Belleville, and went on to complete both his undergraduate studies, as well as his PhD at the University of Pittsburgh in psychology. Though he never worked in the psychology field, he held positions at IBM, RCA, and the longest as a systems engineer with Mitre.
He enjoyed Lionel trains and his TR3. Joseph was a very handy man who was constantly fixing and creating things and many of his projects were referred to as, “ a Joe”. He loved nothing more then spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he was so proud of, and had such high hopes for. Joseph had a generous side, that came out during the holidays, in supporting various organizations, especially one very close to his heart, autism.
Besides his wife Carol, Joseph is survived by his daughters, Sarah D. Kistner & her fiancé Vinay Fuller, and Meghan E. Kistner all of Framingham, his grandchildren, Keion Mitchell, Elias Fuller, and Sky Fuller.
Family and friends will honor and remember Joseph’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham on Wednesday, August 1st from 9 – 10:45 A.M. His Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 11 o’clock. Interment in Edgell Grove Cemetery.
