Our sister, Joan A. Cameron, beloved daughter of the late Paul B. and Alice (Buckley) Cameron, passed on to the Lord on November 4, after a brief illness. She was 74.
Born in Waltham, MA on July 11, 1945, she lived most of her life in Wayland, MA. She graduated from Rose Hawthorne High School in Concord, MA and the Katherine Gibbs School in Boston, MA. Among other jobs, she was a Certified Nurses’ Assistant.
An active member of St. George Parish in Framingham, she was a regular participant of Mass there, as well as a participant in parish activities, such as setting up the preparations for Mass.
She is survived by her sister Mary Puntini and her husband, Bob, of Ashland; sister Patty Holden and her husband, Keith, of Bolton; and sister Kathleen Cameron and brother Michael Cameron, both of Cape Cod. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, upon whom she lavished affection and advice. In addition, she is survived by her favorite aunt, Ann Cameron, of Cape Cod, and her friend Rosie Pizani who helped look after Joan in her final months.
In addition to her parents and her longtime companion John Fox, of Wayland, she was predeceased by brothers Francis, John and Paul, Jr. She will be missed by her family, and all who knew her.
Family and friends will honor and remember Joan’s life by celebrating her Funeral Mass in St. George Church, 74 School St. Framingham, on Friday morning, November 15th at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery.
