Gail Marie (Weiczorek) McIntyre, a longtime resident of Marlborough died January 9, 2020 following a lengthy illness. Born in Newton, she was the daughter of the late Laurence A. & Florence A. (Kaye) Weiczorek.
The youngest of three, Gail was educated and worked as a radiologist for many years. Her skills coming in handy as she became the caregiver for her parents in their later years. She married and traveled the country with her husband for a number of years meeting her cousin Korczak Ziolkowski, Mountain sculptor of the Chief Crazy Horse Memorial. She was an avid financial supporter of his work and corresponded with both Korczak and his wife Ruth until their deaths. After she met Korczak she said she now understood that her stubborn Polish streak was definitely inherited.
Gail and her family were active in a travel and camping club for many years as well as family motorcycling. She loved her dachshunds and spending time with her friends of like mind. Buzzy was her most recent dachshund but Rocky was always her favorite. She'll be remembered as the tough as nails gal, great sense of humor, kind and hardworking, and a loyal friend.
She was a strong matriarch who loved her boys and always supported them, and had wonderful friends who supported her throughout the "single Mom" years. Gail is survived by her son Todd R. McIntyre of Marlborough, and her former husband Robert. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Jason, and her siblings, Florence L. Weiczorek Dundy, and Leon Weiczorek.
Family and friends will honor and remember Gail’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Wednesday January 22nd from 9 – 10:30 A.M. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough.
