Evelyn D. “Evie” (Heinrich) DiLegami, 86, a longtime Framingham resident, died Monday, December 31, 2018. Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Peter C. & Helen B. (Lewis) Heinrich, she was the beloved wife of the late Joseph G. DiLegami.
Evelyn was raised and educated in Roxbury, and settled in Framingham in 1961. Evie worked as an administrator at Cushing Hospital. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She was a true animal lover especially her cat Angela.
Evelyn is survived by her niece, Helen B. Newman & her husband Stephen P. of Framingham, her grand nephew John S. Newman of Worcester, and her cousins, Joseph G. Lewis of CA, William F. Lewis of FL, George A. Lewis of Canton, Kenneth C. Lewis of RI, Timothy Lewis of IL, Caitlin A. Halroyd of Quincy, her dear friends, Jack McCarthy, Jane K. Banner, and Katie S. Bloomquist. Besides her husband Joseph, Evie was predeceased by her siblings, Helen B. Lombardo, Joseph Egan, and Mary Cooper-Clark.
Family and friends will honor and remember Evelyn’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Saturday, January 26th from 8:30 – 9:30 A.M. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Stephen’s Church, 251 Concord St. at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
