Carlos A. Gines

December 17, 1970 ~ December 9, 2018 (age 47)

Carlos A. Gines “Mookie” or “Psycho”, 47, of Framingham formerly of the Bronx, NY, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday December 9, 2018.  Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico, he is the son of Juanita (Ferreira) Gines.

Carlos was raised in The Bronx and attended Dewitt Clinton High School where he played football and moved to Framingham in 1989. He was a member of the Laborers, Local 609, and worked in construction. He loved his job and was very proud of the projects he worked on such as Natick Mall and the new Logan Express.

Besides his mother Juanita, Carlos is survived by his two loving daughters, Cheyanne M. Gines and Margaret (Maggie) F. Gines, his sister Celines “Shirley” Gines, many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Jose Gines and Stepfather Manuel Cuevas.

Carlos loved and lived life to the fullest. He was an avid movie lover and would treat himself to movie dates sometimes even watching the same movie two and three times over. Carlos also loved animals, attending many reptile expos and scouting his new pets. Anyone who knew him can say with certainty that his superpower was his contagious loud laugh, he could make anyone smile or laugh along with him no matter the circumstances. Carlos would spend long weekends and holidays in The Bronx visiting his family and would walk to the end of the world if he could, with his New York paced walk of course. He loved traveling, went on many cruises, and vacationed in the Dominican Republic several times.

Family and friends will honor and remember Carlos’ life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Saturday, December 15th from 4-8 P.M. A graveside service will be held in St. Raymond’s New Cemetery, The Holy Cross Section, Range 44, Plot 192 at 2600 Lafayette Ave., Bronx, NY on Tuesday, December 18th at 12 P.M.
