Alfred J. “Freddie” Meninno, 98, a 70 year resident of Framingham, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. Born in Amesbury, he was the son of the late Charles & Antoinette (DeRosa) Meninno, and the beloved husband of the late Eleanora (Rapino).
Freddie grew up in Hopkinton, class of 1938 and a graduate of Bentley College. Like many of his generation, he enlisted in the Army, and proudly served his country under Gen. Stillwell in Burma with Merrill’s Marauders during WWII. He worked for many years as a CPA for the millinery union.
A devout Catholic, Freddie was a member of the Holy Name Society, former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and an usher at St. Stephen’s Parish for more than 35 years.
Always a family man, Freddie is survived by his brother George of FL. his children, Michael of NH, Stephen of Framingham, James & his wife Heather of Framingham, Charles & his wife Stacey of Holliston, Chris of Framingham, Diane Sharrow & her husband Neil of Framingham, and Lois Imparato & her husband Michael of Mendon, his 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife Eleanora, Freddie was predeceased by his brother Al.

Family and friends will honor and remember Freddie’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham on Sunday, July 22nd from 2 – 6 P.M. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning in St. Stephen’s Church, 251 Concord St., Framingham at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Tarcisius Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Alfred’s name to: the Knights of Columbus or the charity of your choice.
