Mr. Abilio A. Faustino, of Framingham, died at home on Friday, October 6, 2017. He was 91. Que ele descanse em paz.
Born on July 8, 1926 in Lousã, Portugal a son of the late José Augusto Faustino and Lucinda de Jesus (Gomes) Faustino. Raised and educated in Portugal he married Maria A. Conceição on November 13, 1952 in Portugal and they immigrated to the United States over 50 years ago.
Abilio worked as a laborer in construction for many years at Haynes Management Inc. in Wellesley before retiring in 1988.
Retirement afforded Abilio and Maria more opportunities to travel often back to their native and much loved Portugal where they maintained homes. He would spend days working the land where olive trees would flourish and chestnut trees would provide great harvest. He was a member of Saint Tarcisius Parish where he was a member of its choir. They would often visit the Fatima Shrine in Holliston.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Maria, he leaves their son, Abilio M. Faustino of Framingham; 41 nieces & nephews and 55 great-nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, Aurea A. Lopes and her husband, Joaquim, Maria A. Russo and her husband, Joseph, Albino Faustino and Augusto Faustino; his niece, Maria de Graca Lopes and nephews, Antonio Lopes and Antonio Russo.
Family and friends will honor and remember Abilio’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham on Tuesday, October 10th from 4 – 7 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning in St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverly Street Framingham at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Tarcisius Cemetery.
