Walter J. "Ripper" KeefeApril 18, 1934 ~ December 10, 2017 (age 83)
Walter J. “Ripper” Keefe, 83, a longtime Framingham resident died, Sunday, December 10, 2017. Born in Boston the son of the late John & Mary (Reedy) Keefe, he was the husband of the late Alice L. (Piper) Keefe.
Ripper grew up a Saxonville kid and was a 1952 graduate of Framingham High School. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he settled in his beloved Framingham to raise his family. He worked for several years for various tile companies, and proudly established Ripper’s Tile in 1965 which he ran until 2002, and his son-in-law runs today. A 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Coeur de Leon Council #87, Ripper for many years enjoyed volunteering and running Bingo at the Knights and Medfield State Hospital. Always guided by his faith, he was an active member of the St. Stephen’s Parish.
He loved playing cards, traveling with friends, and his dogs. Ripper was known for his impeccable flower gardens and Christmas decorations. Above all else, his three grandchildren were his world.
Ripper is survived by his children, Walter J. Jr. of Framingham, Sandra J. Cormier & her husband Arthur of Milford, Susan M. Masionis & her husband William of Ashland, his grandchildren, Jenna and Derek Masionis, and Shannon Cormier, his longtime companion Mary Fiore, his siblings, Paul, and Jane Karp, his 1st wife Mary E., and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his wife Alice, Ripper was predeceased by his siblings, John, Mary Duffy, William, Doris Zontini, and Joan.
Family and friends will honor and remember Ripper’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham, on Thursday, December 14th from 4 - 8 P.M. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning in St. Stephen’s Church, 251 Concord St., Framingham at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.
