Michael K. GerardOctober 23, 1961 ~ May 7, 2017 (age 55)
Michael K. Gerard, 55, a longtime Framingham resident, unexpectedly lost his struggle with alcoholism on May 7, 2017. Born in Hollywood, Florida, he was the son of Mary Elizabeth “Betty” (Gannon) Gerard of Framingham, and the late Ransom “Ronnie” Gerard.
“If you ate today…thank a farmer”. In Michael’s case it should read, “thank a turkey farmer”. After being educated in Framingham, he went on to become the 3rd generation owner of Gerard’s Turkey Farm which was started by his grandparents in 1931. Besides living and collecting all things turkey, Mike was a hard worker who would do anything for anyone. He loved golf, cooking, travel, country music, cars, and most of all spending time with his girls.
Besides his mother Betty, Michael is survived by his daughters, Kristin of Framingham, and Michelle of Los Angeles, CA, his former wife Dale of Framingham, his sisters, Linda Monast & her husband Joe of Attleboro, and Karen McCullough of Framingham, 7 nieces and nephews, 1 great niece and 1 great nephew.
There is solace in the fact that Michael can now rest free of troubles.
Family and friends will honor and remember Michael’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham on Friday, May 12th from 4 – 8 P.M. His funeral services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that in Michael’s name you take the time to make a phone call, reach out, or give a hug to someone that may need it.
