David E. Kee, 93 years old, formerly of Longboat Key, FL and Woburn, MA passed away peacefully at Carmel Terrace on Monday, June 12, 2017. David was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis E. Kee. He was predeceased by his brothers, William Kee, Robert Kee, John Kee, Thomas Kee and his sister, Anna (Kee) Lombardi. David is survived by his son, Robert Kee of Wakefield, MA; daughter, Carol Kee of Wayland, MA; daughter, Janet and husband Bill Coonfield of Palm Coast FL; daughter, Debra and husband Mark Winn of Lake Worth, FL and daughter, Rita and late husband John Davenport of Tulsa, OK. David is also survived by five grandchildren: Matthew, Kimberly, Alison, David & Jennifer, and two great-grandchildren: Riley and Mackenzie as well as by his cousins, Dorothea Comer and Judith Kee, and many nieces and nephews.

Dave was a Navy pilot serving in the South Pacific during World War II. When he returned, he married Phyllis and they spent 68 wonderful years together. In addition to raising a family during those 68 years, Dave graduated from Tufts University; then he joined Kemper Insurance, where he remained over 35 years. After retiring, he and Phyllis spent 25 years in Longboat Key, FL. enjoying the beach, golfing, tennis, boating and dining with their many friends. In 2009, they both moved to Carmel Terrace. The staff and residents provided an atmosphere of care and support that allowed Dave’s last months to include things like exercising at the gym, Tai Chi classes, dining with relatives and friends, and attending the Tufts Alumni Weekend Banquet where he celebrated 68 years as a graduate.

Family and friends will honor and remember David’s life by gathering for visitation in Holy Family Chapel of St. Patrick’s Manor, 863 Central St., Framingham on Tuesday,  June 20th from 9:00 – 9:45 A.M.  His Funeral Mass will follow in the Chapel at 10 A.M.  Interment will take place in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
